I don't find it limiting at all. I use fiber, and not textile, to describe my work. Textile seems (to me) to be a term to describe a product, while fiber seems to describe a broader range of possibilities--skin can be fiber, glass can be fiber, ditto metal, etc.Dawn of LaTouchableshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17608364272461254611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326236379591986714.post-42508677590868821932014-06-03T15:43:37.606-06:002014-06-03T15:43:37.606-06:00What a great article! I guess that is how it goes as we get older...

I have a friend who had a great aunt who was in her late 90's when she knew she was about ready to die. She never married and had been a suffragette and lived a life of determination and of peace (they don't go hand in hand!)

She called the family to come visit her on a specified date, had them visit with her alone as she lay in her bed. She held each one's hand, said her good-byes, gave each some words of wisdom and died in her sleep that night. I think it's such a beautiful way to go and I thought you would enjoy that story. :)

Let your light shine!

RachelRachel Bielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14804950102480086440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326236379591986714.post-84225879465361016612014-01-22T17:02:18.348-07:002014-01-22T17:02:18.348-07:00Hi, Georgianne! So, you really just stepped back? I looked at past posts and didn't see any mention of this. Just curious about how it all came about.

Taking a Sabbatical can be so important and for those who can do it, it often opens up new doors, ideas and perspectives. I went on a two week road trip a long time ago, tent camping at State parks around the SouthEast, hardly talking to anyone. I remember coming home and thinking how big and wonderful my apartment looked. Everything had new colors and textures! I long for something like that again, but can't until there is a financial cushion. This is one of the things that I am so envious of European work cultures, building a couple of months a year as "rest", as a space away from work.

It sounds like yours was wonderfully successful and that you are stepping forward in the light and that is great! :)Rachel Bielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14804950102480086440noreply@blogger.com
